Amazon Cloud CEO promises 'major' AI product updates, calls it a 'never-ending race'

December 3, 2012 - Matt Garman, the new CEO of Amazon's cloud computing division who took over in June, will deliver his first keynote since taking over at AWS re:Invent, Amazon's annual conference, on Tuesday, local time. Amazon says Matt Garman will share new features and products in areas such as AI and compute, which he describes as 'really significant changes'. Matt Garman also said that AI is a race with no end in sight. "It's a very important technology and it's going to go on forever." He also emphasized that AWS remains committed to innovating its foundational services - compute, storage and database. The re:Invent conference will not only focus on AI advances, but also major improvements in these core areas, including new high-performance chips such as Trainium 2. (Source: IT Home)
