Recently, Douwe Kiela, Adjunct Professor at Stanford University and CEO of Contextual AI, announced in a post on the X platform that Felix Hill, a research scientist at Deepmind, sadly passed away on December 5th of last year due to a long battle with severe mental illness. Prior to his death, he was leading a team at Deepmind working on language and general intelligence interactions. At the same time, he began to shift his focus to cutting-edge technology research, specializing in linguistics, machine learning and AI model development. According to Google Scholar, his papers have been cited 19,680 times, with an h-index of 42, including 16,608 citations after 2020, and have had a wide impact on related fields.
