AMD announces the debut of its most powerful AI laptop chip, the Riptide AI Max, with performance that far exceeds the MacBook M4 Pro

At the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, AMD brought a number of new RuiLong (Ryzen) chips to blow up the field, of which, the most eye-catching is the so-called AMD's most powerful artificial intelligence (AI) laptop chips to date, that is, the RuiLong AI Max and AI Max + laptop chips.AMD said the top-end RuiLong AI Max + 395 chip graphics performance is more than 1.4 times that of Intel's top-end Lunar Lake chip Core 9 288V processor, 3D rendering performance is 2.6 times that of the latter, and rendering performance on the new 16-core RuiLong AI Max flagship is 84% faster than that of the 12-core Apple MacBook M4 Pro.When it comes to AI workloads, the aforementioned top-end RuiLong AI Max + chips outperform the performance of standalone desktop NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPUs by as much as 2.2x, while consuming 87% less thermal design power (TDP).
