OpenAI Builds World's Largest AI Data Center in the Desert, Consuming as Much Power as Five Nuclear Power Plants

OpenAI, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates G42, plans to build a 5 gigawatt data centre in Abu Dhabi, 10 square miles of land and a scale larger than Monaco; the project is part of the Stargate project, which consumes electricity equivalent to five nuclear power plants, four times the size of the Abilin Park in Texas; and G42 withdrew investment in China, after which Microsoft invested $1.5 billion and placed seniors on the G42 Board of Directors because of its relations with Chinese entities。
