OpenAI plans to open an office in Seoul in the coming months

May 26 (Bloomberg) -- U.S.-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI announced today that it will open an office in Seoul, South Korea, as part of its strategy to expand its global AI infrastructure. Speaking at a press conference in Seoul, Jason Kwon, chief strategy for OpenAI, said the company has established a South Korean branch office and plans to open an office in Seoul in the coming months. This will be OpenAI's third branch in Asia, following Tokyo and Singapore. Kwon emphasized that OpenAI will begin hiring a local team starting immediately to drive progress and support local users, customers and partners in Korea. In recent years, OpenAI, the operator of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot, has opened 11 new offices in major cities around the world, including Paris, Brussels, Singapore, London, Dublin and Tokyo.
