1.5 Billion Dollar AI Unicorn Collapses, Exposed for Using Programmers as Imposters

A few days ago, British AI programming company Builder.ai declared bankruptcy and entered liquidation. Founded in 2016, Builder.ai was reportedly focused on using AI technology to streamline the app and website development process, having claimed that its own technology could make the development process 'as easy as ordering a pizza'. According to multiple employees, some of the pricing and schedule calculations in the company were done by traditional software, and most of the rest of the work was done manually by employees. Later, a number of former employees and people in the know took to the Internet to complain that they had been working for years, but had hardly seen any project content delivered. Some people even reported that Builder.ai had hired a large number of low-cost developers to disguise as AI. In addition, Builder.ai had long been publicized with exaggerated marketing forecasts and AI content to obtain financing; meanwhile, the ever-expanding number of employees and new markets were also accelerating the depletion of funds. Eventually, Builder.ai collapsed and filed for bankruptcy in May of this year, and before it went bankrupt, its last CEO, Manpreet Ratia, revealed in a company-wide conference call that failure was assured and that most of the global workforce would be laid off.
