According to the Wall Street Journal, sources tell us that Meta Platforms (META.O) is aiming to enable brands to create ads using artificial intelligence exclusively by the end of next year.Meta Ad Platforms already offers a number of AI tools that can generate variations of existing ads and make minor modifications to them, and then target the ads to Facebook and users on Instagram. Now the company aims to help brands create ad concepts from scratch. Advertising makes up the majority of Meta's business, with ad revenue accounting for more than $97% of total revenue in 2024. Using the tools Meta is developing, brands can show an image of the product they want to promote along with a budget target, and then the AI will create the entire ad, including images, video and text. The system will then decide which Instagram and Facebook users to target and make recommendations on budgets, people familiar with the matter said.Meta also plans to let advertisers use AI to personalize ads, allowing users to see different versions of the same ad in real time based on factors such as geographic location.
