Samsung considers integrating Perplexity AI in Galaxy S26 to get rid of Google AI dependency

Samsung Electronics is reportedly actively considering using service providers other than Google for the artificial intelligence features of its Galaxy smartphone lineup. Citing two anonymous sources, the report said Samsung Electronics is discussing integrating the AI assistant services of U.S. startup Perplexity AI into the Galaxy S26, which is scheduled for release in the first half of next year. Samsung Electronics and Perplexity have yet to finalize specifics, but the two are close to a broad agreement and plan to announce the partnership as early as this year.Perplexity, an AI search startup founded in 2022 by former OpenAI employee Aravind Srinivas and others, is currently competing with the likes of Google.
