Liz Reid, head of Google's search division, said in a blog post that despite reports that Google's AI search feature may be causing a drop in website traffic, that's not the case. Google's data shows that clicks from the search engine have remained "relatively stable" overall compared to the same period last year. However, some sites have seen an increase in clicks, while others have seen a decrease. The report comes after the Pew Research Center reported that users are "less likely" to click on a link when Google provides an AI overview - the AI-generated summary at the top of search results. Reid noted in his blog post that Google's findings contradict some third-party reports based on "flawed methodology.
