ByteDance revealed to be launching 'World Model'

According to The Information, ByteDance is following in the footsteps of Google and Meta by preparing its own world models as well. Recently, both Google and Meta launched their new world models, Genie 3 and V-JEPA 2, respectively. world models simulate real-world environments and are designed to obtain similarities to the real world in terms of the movement of objects and the physical ways in which humans interact with their surroundings, and thus can be used to train robotics and self-driving Models. It is reported that ByteDance's world modeling project is currently being pushed forward by its seed department, which focuses on artificial intelligence research and development. According to another source familiar with the matter, the project leader is Zhou Chang - who jumped to ByteDance from Ali Tongyi last year and was one of the key executives of the Qwen model. It is worth mentioning that ByteDance currently owns two major 'viral' video platforms, Jittery Voice and TikTok, as well as a leading AI video generation model. In this regard, reports indicate that ByteDance can use this advantage to help develop its own world model.
