Godfather of AI

On September 28th, local time 26, according to Fortune magazine, the legendary computer scientist Jeffrey Hinton warned that even though AI was not in bad faith in itself, it was possible that humans could be reduced to the collateral consequences of being destroyed while AI was committed to its mission. Sinton explained that once AI believes that humanity is preventing itself from carrying out the tasks entrusted to it, it may be seen as an obstacle that needs to be removed. He gave the hypothetical example of asking AI to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere. I don't know

On December 30, according to The Fortune magazine, "Ai Godfather" Jeffrey Hinton recently stated in CNN's State of the Union that artificial intelligence technology will be further enhanced next year with the ability to replace more human work. He noted that AI had been able to fill positions such as call centres and would expand to more areas in the future. Heinton stressed that progress in AI was much faster than expected, with an average of seven months reducing the time taken to complete the task by half. For example, a code that used to take an hour..

On December 23rd, in the context of AI's ongoing re-engineering of the employment structure, Joshua Bengio, who is considered to be one of the “Ai Godfathers”, spoke of his career advice to 4-year-old grandchildren. According to Inner Business tonight, Bengio said on the podcast: “Back to being a beautiful human human being. I believe that even if the machine could do most of its work in the future, we would still exist as part of humanity itself.” He said that as the business accelerates the introduction of AI into the daily workflow, A..

On November 5th, according to Fortune, Father AI's computer scientist Jeffrey Hinton said in a recent interview that the only viable way for a technology giant to benefit from a huge AI investment is to replace human labour with AI. In addition to charging users for the use of chat robots, Hinton points out that "replace workers with cheaper alternatives" will be the main path for businesses to make a profit. Heinton stressed that although some economists believe that new technologies often create new jobs, he is not convinced that AI will extend..

Geoffrey Hinton, known as the "Godfather of AI", was recently interviewed, in which he confessed that the rapid development of AI has far exceeded expectations, not only approaching or even surpassing humans in reasoning ability, but also approaching the core boundaries of creativity, emotion and consciousness. Hinton said that today's AI has a decreasing error rate in reasoning, memory, and decision-making, and that the amount of information held by models like GPT-4, Gemini, and Claude has far exceeded that of humans. He mentioned that AI is able to easily bypass linguistic traps, accurately reason...

April 24 - Technology media outlet The Decoder published a blog post yesterday (April 23) reporting that former OpenAI employees, researchers, and nonprofit organizations have joined together to issue an open letter strongly calling on regulators to block OpenAI's proposed corporate restructuring plan. Founded in 2015, OpenAI began as a nonprofit organization to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence (AGI) development was aligned with the public interest. The company established a for-profit subsidiary, OpenAI LP, in 2019 in order to raise funds, but it is still run by the nonprofit...

December 29, 2012 - Geoffrey E. Hinton, the 2024 Nobel Prize winner in physics and known as the "godfather of AI," said in 2023 that there is a 10% chance that artificial intelligence will lead to catastrophic consequences for humanity. In a recent appearance on BBC Radio 4's Today program, Hinton said there is a 10% to 20% chance that AI will lead to the demise of the human race in the next thirty years, and warned that the technology is changing "much faster than expected," the Guardian reported on December 27th. Hinton ...

Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun published an interview with Jeffrey Hinton, the "godfather of AI" and professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, Canada, discussing the development and potential threats of AI. When asked how he sees the potential threat of AI, Hinton said, "Over the years, I have come to believe that AI is a superior intelligence that transcends human beings. Because of this, we need to seriously think about the question: if AI has beyond human intelligence, and even have the ability to control us, what does this mean for human society. This is not science fiction, but a tangible risk." Hinton argues that human beings only live for about...

Geoffrey Hinton, a professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, who has just won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics and is known as the "Godfather of AI," said in a live group interview on October 9, "I've had a lot of very smart students, much smarter than me! , who have done a lot of real work and had great careers. I'm particularly proud that one of my students fired (FIRED) Sam Altman." Hinton mentioned that the student was none other than Ilya Sutskever, the former chief scientist of OpenAI.Ilya Suts...

Yesterday afternoon, the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics was announced, and Prof. Jeffrey Hinton and Prof. John Hopfield were jointly awarded the prize for their innovative breakthroughs in the field of machine learning. In a conference call following the award, Jeffrey Hinton, known as the "Godfather of AI," expressed his deep concern about the rapid development of AI technology. He emphasized the importance of addressing the potential risks of AI development, and that people must be concerned about possible adverse consequences. "AI will have a huge impact, similar to the industrial revolution. Instead of surpassing human physical strength, it will enhance our intelligence. We have previously...
