On 4 November, according to Google, on 1 November, after a Republican senator complained about her development-oriented AI model Gemma “fabricated serious criminal charges against her”, the company had taken the model from the AI Studio platform. 1AI notes that the official Google News account states in a post on platform X that the company “takes note of reports that non-developer users have attempted to use the Gemma model in AI Studio and raises factual questions with it”. AI Studio is a developer--

August 17 news, Google announced its open source Gemma series family of the lightest version of "Gemma 3 270M", the model has 270 million parameters, mainly for end-side deployment scenarios, with instructions to follow and text structuring capabilities. 1AI has learned that the Gemma 3 model series currently includes five scale versions: 270M, 1B, 4B, 12B, and 27B. Under the Q4_0 quantization format, the RAM memory requirements for each model are 240MB, 892MB, 3.4GB, 8.7GB...

April 19, 2011 - In a blog post yesterday (April 18), Google Inc. released an optimized version of the Gemma 3 model for Quantitative Awareness Training (QAT) that reduces memory requirements while maintaining high quality. Google launched the Gemma 3 open-source model last month, capable of running efficiently on a single NVIDIA H100 GPU with BFloat16 (BF16) precision. Citing a blog post, 1AI explains that Google worked to make Gemma 3's powerful performance adaptable to common hardware in response to user demand. Quantization techniques are key through...

At the recent Gemma Developer Day in Tokyo, Google officially launched a new Japanese version of the Gemma AI model. The model's performance rivals that of GPT-3.5, but it only has a mere 2 billion covariates, making it very small and suitable for running on mobile devices. The Gemma model in this release excels in Japanese language processing while maintaining its capabilities in English. This is especially important for small models, which can face the problem of "catastrophic forgetting" when fine-tuning for a new language, i.e., newly learned knowledge overwrites...

According to Google's official press release, Google's DeepMind team today launched a Gemma open model, which is said to be inspired by Gemini and is available in two scale versions: Gemma 2B and Gemma 7B. ▲ Image source: Google's official press release (the same below) IT Home noted that this Gemma model can be fine-tuned using tools such as Keras 3.0 and PyTorch, and can run on lower-performance devices such as laptops/IoT, and is said to have...
