ChatGPT is now fast becoming one of the world's most popular consumer apps, with 600 million monthly active users. To further expand its user base, OpenAI intends to enter the broader consumer space, includingOnline shopping, social platforms and smart devices, etc.The "Log in with ChatGPT" feature is expected to be introduced. The "Login with ChatGPT" feature, if introduced, is expected toHelping OpenAI compete with tech giants like Apple, Google, and MicrosoftThe program is designed to provide users with a quick and easy way to log in.
Just this month, OpenAI made the "Login with ChatGPT" preview experience available to developers in its open source endpoint AI coding tool, Codex CLI. This feature allows users to place ChatGPT's Free, Plus, or Pro accounts are tied to an API account.As an incentive, OpenAI is giving $5 API credits to Plus users and $50 to Pro users. TechCrunch reports that OpenAI "apparently plans to work with businesses of many sizes". Developers fill out interest surveys that indicate the number of users of their apps, ranging from less than a thousand per week to hundreds of millions of users per week. In addition, OpenAI asked developers whether they currently charge for AI features and whether they use OpenAI's API services.
OpenAI CEO, Mr. Altman, mentioned back in 2023 that the "Login with OpenAI" feature might be developed in 2024. At this point in time, it looks like this feature is well on its way to becoming a reality. However, it's not yet known when the feature will be available to ChatGPT users, or how many companies have applied to participate.
