THE AI TALENT STRUGGLES FOR A WARMER BATTLE AND GOOGLE HAS A NEW WAY OF "RETIRE" OLD WORKERS

CNBC reported that about one fifth of the new AI-related software engineers recruited by Google in 2025 were former employees who had left and returned, a higher percentage than in previous years. Google confirmed that as of December that percentage remained in place, noting that the number of AI researchers from major competitors had increased significantly compared to 2024. It was reported that Google's “re-employment” space was so closely related to the size of its former staff. At the beginning of 2023, the parent company Alphabet implemented the largest downsizing in history, cutting 12,000 jobs and reducing the total number of employees by 6%. (FIA)
